Much'i Mondi is a creative platform that promotes collaboration and raises awareness for projects focused on environmental and cultural sustainability.
Our objective is to inspire creativity and preserve Aruba's subcultures through diverse activities like benefit parties, exhibitions, discussions, pop-ups, and more. We prioritize mindful consumption and eco-friendly practices to promote sustainability and protect the environment.
Through our projects, we engage in community dialogue for natural growth and development. By supporting artists, we stimulate creativity and offer multidisciplinary art experiences that educate about Aruba's heritage, history, and contemporary art in a non-traditional setting.
ART PROJECTS
WABOFASHI
WaBoFashi created in 2016, was a groundbreaking fashion exhibition that focuses on upcycling and sustainable garment creation.
The Much'i Mondi Art Collective team transformed models into characters inspired by the surrounding landscape and found objects, using site-specific locations as their canvas. Each garment became a performance or installation art piece, breathing new life into discarded materials.
WaBoFashi showcases the significance of wearable art and sustainability, raising awareness about innovative material reuse on the island.
TRANSLUCENT MOON
Translucent Moon (2014-2015) is an immersive exhibition held during full moon nights, showcasing multidisciplinary arts. It features thought-provoking dialogues, performance art, music, installations, and more, all centered around a specific theme.
The goal of Translucent Moon is to inspire artists in enchanting settings, such as nature or abandoned spaces, and encourage them to share their creative energy with the Aruban community.
By repurposing neglected spaces, the event aims to revitalize and engage the community while highlighting the transformative power of art.
LITTLE MONDI TRIBE
The Little Mondi Tribe project was a Kids Camp held in 2016 and 2017 at Beam Aruba.
With a team of artists, creatives, and Montessori assistant teachers, we guided children aged 5 to 11 to explore various art forms. They created fantasy characters inspired by Aruban children's songs through drawing, painting, clay, dance, and costume making.
Our aim was to provide a creative and educational experience that would allow children to engage with different art forms and nurture their artistic talents.
